
SPOUSAL OPEN WORK PERMIT
Spouses or common law partners of full-time students or skilled labourers, who are already working in Canada under NOC 0, A or B, are eligible to apply for an open work permit. An open work permit will help the spouse of a full-time student or a skilled labourer to work on a full time basis in Canada. The validity of a work permit will be equivalent to the validity of the student permit or the validity of the work permit of a skilled labourer working in NOC 0, A or B.
Eligibility for spouse or common laws for skilled labours:
•Must hold a valid work permit
•Must be employed in an occupation that falls under NOC 0, A or B.
•One must either physically reside or should have a concrete plan to reside in Canada.
Eligibility for spouse of students:
•Must have a valid student permit and should be studying in a designated learning institute approved by the Canadian government.
•Must be able to demonstrate the proof of the relationship
•Must have sufficient funds to support their stay in Canada
